International Istanbul Book Fair Events
The International Istanbul Book Fair event program brings together everything happening across the nine days of the fair: talks with authors, panels on publishing, book signings, workshops and events for children and young readers.
Every entry lists the date, time and hall, so you can decide which day to come and map out your visit before you arrive. The fair runs 12 December – 20 December 2026 at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center.

Talks, panels and workshops throughout the fair.
What kind of events take place at the fair?
The program covers author talks, panels on literature and publishing, book signings, hands-on workshops and sessions built for different age groups. It is how most visitors discover writers they have not read before and follow what is happening in publishing.
Sessions are built around literature, culture, the arts, education and publishing, and put readers in the same room as authors, illustrators, academics and industry professionals. You are not only browsing new books — you are part of the conversation around them.
Which events are on the program?
Each session lists its speakers, date, time and hall in the International Istanbul Book Fair event program.
Talks and panels
Authors, translators, academics and publishers discuss what is happening in literature and in the industry. Most sessions run for about an hour and are open to everyone at the fair.
Author meetings and book signings
Publishers schedule signing hours at their own stands. You can find them on the book signings page.
Workshops
Illustration, creative writing and reading workshops fill up quickly, since places are limited. It is worth noting the time in advance.
Events for children and young readers
Story hours, drawing workshops and school group sessions run throughout the fair and are busiest on weekday mornings.
How do I follow the event program?
The program is published on this page and updated as the fair approaches. Confirmed talks and signing hours also appear on the fair home page and on our social media accounts.
If this is your first visit, why visit explains what the fair covers, and the visitor FAQs answer the practical questions.
What information does each entry include?
Every entry gives the title of the session, its speakers, the date, the start time and the hall. With that, you can line up two or three sessions in a single day without rushing between halls.
Plan your visit
Check how to reach the venue on the venue and travel page, see the halls on the floor plan, and look up who is exhibiting on the exhibitor list.
Who are these events for?
The program is built for readers of every age: students and teachers, families with children, writers and illustrators, and professionals working in publishing. Rights meetings and industry sessions run alongside the public program.
Held in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul, the fair also draws visitors from across Türkiye and from abroad, which makes it one of the largest literary gatherings in Europe.
